Many modern washable nappies still require a seperate waterproof wrap. If you are looking for a real nappy with a waterproof wrap built in, have a look at these Pocket Nappies

Using a seperate waterproof wrap does give you a very reliable nappy as you have two layers of protection against leaks. Having said that, most pockets nappies on the market today are also very reliable against leaks. Waterproof wraps are available in so many different designs so you can have different colours/patterns for every day of the week! Remember though that you don't really see the nappy much when it is under clothing so don't get carried away!

At the moment we sell PUL waterproof wraps which are fantastic. They are breathable, they do not retain smell or moisture and really just require an airing in between uses. Unless of course they get poo on them in which case you can pop them in with your nappy wash, wash with your other washing or just hand rinse them with a bit of liquid soap. We have found Mothereaseand Tots Bots Flexiwraps to be by far the best for durability. Some of our wraps have been used on 3 children and are still going strong.

Another great PUL wrap from Motherease, suitable for any type of nappy.

This wrap closes with velcro which is very easy to use, especially when you have a baby that is at the wriggly stage! I would suggest that you fold the tabs back on themselves when you wash them so that they don’t catch on each other and pull the fabric.

Can be washed at 60 degrees and tumble dried on medium but again they dry very quickly on the line.

Available as white - or as eco theme prints. 'Savannah' and 'Our Ocean' Please select your colour below.

I stock the three main sizes of this wrap but I can do a special order for you if you require the x large (35lbs +) which is slightly more expensive at £9.00.

A really great, hardwearing PUL nappy that does not leak! The fabric is soft, durable and waterproof and it closes with adjustable poppers at the waist and legs, allowing for air circulation.

This reduces the risk of bacteria by keeping the temperature inside the nappy down. It is unlikely your baby will be able to undo these poppers, which is a benefit is has over the velcro version.

These wraps are suitable over all the nappies that I sell. I would highly recommend these to anyone. We have been using ours for 18 months (plus they were second hand when we bought them) and they still look as good as new.

They can be tumble dried on medium but they dry in a few hours on the line. They can be washed up to 60 degrees.

I stock these nappies in 3 main sizes:
The small size fits from approx 6-12lbs.
The medium size fits from approx 10-20lbs.
The large size fits from approx 20-35lbs.

You also have the option of 2 extra sizes which I will be happy to order for you if you contact me. These are Medium to large (20 – 27lbs) and x large (35 – 45lbs). You can usually manage with just 3 sizes as it is really easy to adjust the fit using the poppers.

Tots Bots Flexi wraps

A waterproof, breathable wrap from Tots Bots.

These wraps were redesigned in 2008, now available in a lovely range of bright rainbow colours, these wraps are made from a soft knitted material with a poyurethane membrane. The legs are now non gussetted and the new stretchy material around the legs gives a nice comfortable fit. This is a great wrap to go over any shaped nappy.

Fastens with velcro, crossover tabs for a good snug fit enabling you to expand the wrap as your baby grows.

Available in 4 sizes:

Size 0 (birth to 12lbs/up to 6.4kg)

Size 1 (10lbs to 20lbs/4.5kg - 9.1kg)

Size 2 (20lbs to 35lbs/9.1kg - 15.9kg)
