CLOTH NAPPIES : Washing nappies

Green Mums review:  We regularly use Eco Balls, especially with darker washes and for washing nappies.  If you use them to wash nappies this avoids any problems with powder build up that you can get with detergents.  We probably use detergent for around 2 out of 5 washes and Eco Balls for the rest.  Eco Balls work well with darker washes but we tend not to use them for white washes.  Obviously they contain no chemicals and bleaches so they are not going to get your whites sparkling white!  They do manage to get most stains out of nappies, what they can't really cope with is things like tomato and grass stains.  Don't forget to line dry your nappies when you can because the sun will also help to bleach out any stains.

We use this powder ourselves and have found that it works very well when washing nappies.  We have tried a few environmentally friendly powders and this is the only one we found which does not seem to clog up the dispenser drawer - of course that could just be our washing machine!
